Florence, AL Wedding Venues: A Local’s Guide (2026–2027)

Turtle Point sits on the banks of the Tennessee River with a golf course running right up to the clubhouse, which gives you two very different backdrops in one venue. We shot a wedding here where the ceremony backdrop was the vibrant green fairway and the stately clubhouse, and by evening we were down at the water for golden hour portraits. The grounds also give the groom’s party something to do before the ceremony. We’ve photographed a rehearsal-day round of golf here, and it’s a nice way to keep the guys relaxed instead of just waiting around.

Photo tip: The golf course provides wide open, shaded areas that are ideal for large bridal party portraits. For video, the riverside sunset is the moment to build the whole timeline around.

Built in the 1800s (sources list both 1838 and 1883 — confirm exact year before publishing) in downtown Florence, Pickett Place pairs a historic home with a genuinely secluded garden, which is unusual for a venue this close to downtown. The property gives couples real variety: an outdoor garden ceremony surrounded by tall trees, an indoor parlor with oversized windows for a classic rain-plan ceremony, and a patio reception space centered on a fountain. Both the bride’s and groom’s suites are spacious enough to shoot getting-ready photos without fighting for space.

Photo tip: The indoor parlor’s natural light holds up well even on overcast days, so it’s a reliable rain-plan option, not just a backup.

A waterfront property in Killen with a renovated barn at its center, The Owls’ Landing pairs a 2,500-square-foot climate-controlled barn with a 1,500-square-foot open-air pavilion next door. The barn’s cathedral ceiling holds two crystal chandeliers, and windows set just below the roofline let in natural light until sundown, when the chandeliers and string lights take over. A pond with an illuminated fountain anchors the property, and the bridal cottage overlooks it with its own wraparound deck.

Photo tip: As a result, you get two completely different lighting setups within one booking. Shoot the ceremony in daylight through those high windows, then let the chandeliers carry the reception after dark.

A 208-acre French-country estate just outside Florence near St. Florian, about 20 minutes from downtown (approximate — confirm). Danclay Farms built its grand hall around custom curved windows, so the room stays bright well into the evening without relying on string lights. The property gives you three distinct settings in one visit: the enclosed hall, a covered scenic-view space, and open rolling hillside for uncovered outdoor moments. It’s also home to a working animal sanctuary, so don’t be surprised if a horse or two ends up in the background of your portraits.

Photo tip: Additionally, the rolling hillside behind the hall is where drone footage does the most work here — it’s the shot that actually shows the scale of the property.

Camp Creek is in Killen, about 10 minutes east of Florence, and it’s built around a heated and cooled barn with an open pavilion right next to it. A creek runs alongside the property, which gives you a genuine rustic setting instead of just a barn dropped into a field. The attached farmhouse has separate dressing spaces for the couple, plus a kitchen for caterers, so the day-of logistics are simpler than most barn venues.

Photo tip: For video, the creekside walk between the barn and the farmhouse is an easy, natural spot for a first-look or a quiet moment away from the reception.

The modern sister property to Pickett Place, Pickett On Court trades the historic-home feel for an industrial, downtown Florence loft: exposed brick, tall ceilings, and large windows built for a bright, editorial look. It’s the venue to point couples toward if they love Pickett Place’s team and location but want a sleeker, more contemporary backdrop instead of a garden estate. The space has been featured in Vogue Weddings, which gives you a sense of the style it’s aiming for.

A historic mansion venue in St. Florian, just outside Florence, The Buffler House offers flexible indoor rooms that can be arranged to fit ceremonies, receptions, showers, and reunions alike. (Confirm capacity and indoor/outdoor ceremony options before publishing.) It’s a solid pick for couples who want a traditional, formal mansion setting without leaving the Shoals area.

A converted historic railroad depot in Florence, Sweetwater Depot gives couples a banquet hall that seats 200, plus a smaller Edison Ford room for more intimate groups of 50 or fewer. When the weather cooperates, the wraparound deck and a 40-by-60-foot brick patio extend the event outside, sized to fit a standard event tent if you want to go bigger.

Photo tip: The exposed depot architecture photographs well without much extra styling. In particular, the wraparound deck at dusk is where we’d plan cocktail-hour portraits.

One of Florence’s newest venues, Rhodes Landing sits on a 75-acre private estate with a gazebo centered in a large pond and 20-foot handcrafted iron-and-glass doors at the entry. Inside, the Grand Hall connects to a speakeasy bar and a side room that overlooks the outdoor patio, fountain, and pond gazebo. The property was built as a family legacy project, and it shows in the details: chandeliers, tasteful florals, and two bridal suites plus a groom’s suite.

Photo tip: Beyond the gazebo shot, the curved iron-and-glass entry doors are a striking frame for portraits as guests arrive, well before the ceremony even starts.
